Mental Maps (MMap) ================== Mental Maps is a program that allows students to test their knowledge about the location of cities. Mental Maps may also be configured to ask questions about the cities such as their population, average summer and winter temperature, cost of living and desirability as a home for the user. This program can serve as a way of collecting information about students' perceptions about cities for further in-class discussion. Requirements ============ Macintosh computer with: - System 7.0 or later - 640x480 or larger monitor with at least 256 colors - 1 Megabyte of free harddrive space - High speed Mac with floating point processor is recommended. (such as a Quadra or Centris) Documentation ============= User's Manual ============ Once Mental Maps is installed, the Mental Maps User's Manual is in the directory ::info (eg. :mmap:info). It is in three formats: Format File Name -------------- ----------- LaTeX MMAP.TEX Post Script MMAP.PS ASCII text MMAP.DOC Technical Manual ================ A technical manual describing how to change the configuration of Mental Maps is also provided. This document is found in the same directory as the User's Manual. It is in three formats: Format File Name -------------- ----------- LaTeX MMAPTM.TEX Post Script MMAPTM.PS ASCII text MMAPTM.DOC The LaTeX format is included so that you may use LaTeX to compile, view, and print the manual. Since you need LaTeX to do that, we have included the two other formats. The Post Script format requires a PostScript printer or GhostScript. The plain ASCII text format may be printed on any standard printer.
