Readme.txt 6/17/98 ========== Files in this directory: (XX denotes a version number) mapdsXXX.zip MMap distribution file. readme.txt (this file) Descriptions, installation instructions mental.exe Mental Maps tutorial distribution files. zmental1.exe zmental2.exe zmental3.exe Be sure to switch to BINARY mode before transferring ALL of these files to your system. Simply enter 'binary' to switch to binary mode. The Mental Maps distribution files are self-extracting archives. Place them all in the same directory and execute them to install the Mental Maps tutorial. The mmap distribution file mapdsXXX.zip is a zip archive. A utility which extracts zip archives is required to install mmap. This version of mmap runs ONLY in the 32-bit Windows environment (Windows NT, Windows 95, or Windows 3.1 with win32s installed). Mental Maps (MMap) ================== Mental Maps is a program that allows students to test their knowledge about the location of cities. Mental Maps may also be configured to ask questions about the cities such as their population, average summer and winter temperature, cost of living and desirability as a home for the user. This program can serve as a way of collecting information about students' perceptions about cities for further in-class discussion.
